Fat Spoon @ Damansara Uptown

Always liked those cafes and eating places with unique interior. Not fancy or high class type of interior but rather a more unique type of interior like this place, Fat Spoon in Damansara Uptown that is located next to the famous Hon Kee porridge. It is rather interesting on how they decorate the place, using old fashioned furniture. I even saw one of the tables is actually refurbished from an old sewing machine. They even make do with pieces of colourful wrapping above the counter as wallpaper.

When the menu came, was surprised as they used Peter and Jane books as the menu is pasted into them :) Reminiscence of my youth :p They had the menu written all over a large black board there too.

My friend ordered the Nasi Kampung (RM14.90) that comes with curry chicken, half a hard boiled salted duck egg, assam prawns and stir fried french beans. Tried a little bit of the curry and it tasted quite good.

First time trying Fried Nasi Ulam (RM11.90) which is fried and it was delicious as it was very fragrant with all the herbs. It does not taste too "greeny" in the sense that the herbs and vegetables are overpowering because it has been cooked. It comes with a side of cucumber and pineapple pickles and a large succulent piece of deep fried chicken. This is definitely a fav in my list :)

A nice motif on the Fat Spoon Hot Chocolate. Heard it was nice and rich.

Even the English tea is served in style. Old fashioned "cockery" haha! A teapot with painted roosters and tea served in a chinese tea cup :)

Definitely would love to come here again as it feel cosy and ambiance is pretty interesting.
